Changing Things Up

I don’t always code. Sometimes I actually head outside and try to enjoy life beyond the four walls of my home.
I’ve actually been doing this regularly since I’ve started working part-time. Yes dear readers, I’ve gotten a job! Is it the job I want? Nope. Is it a job I can do so I can pay my bills and have a little bit of fun in life? Yes. Yes it is. I’m enjoying it so far - it’s easy to do and I can practice talking to strangers since I suck at small talk and ending conversations. 😅
I will say I’ve already gotten better at this, so I’d say that’s progress!
I also got to go and see a performance by River City Taiko, along with performances by Koto Richmond, Conflux Dance Theater, and my dojo Japanese Sword Arts. I’m so proud of all of them and I throughly enjoyed the performances!
I also went to the movies and got to see The Monkey. That was…well, this movie was definitely something. It was stupid but funny but weird but good but horrifying in a non-scary way all at the same time. It was like…if Founders Day had a better plot and didn’t take itself seriously AT ALL! the movie isn’t scary in so much as it’s just weird and meant to make you feel uncomfortable at points, and then turning things around and being funny. Definitely a horror comedy, I would recommend this movie to anyone that enjoyed M3GAN, Happy Death Day and Happy Death Day 2 You, and Freaky.

I also got to go to a local comic book store and got some more graphic novels. I even found out about a graphic novel book club that I’m hoping to join! They have their next meet-up this upcoming Saturday, so I wanted to make sure to pick up the comic they’re reading so I can join in on the fun. Plus, new comics! When I didn’t have anything to read at this moment!
….okay that’s a lie. I have TONS to read right now, but I wanted to find something new outside of the series I’m currently reading. And one of the workers there found four books for me to try! I only got two for now, but I’ll probably pick up the others once I get paid and get my bills paid off. Have to be able to survive so I can enjoy my hobbies. 😁📚
Three new books - two of them by authors I absolutely love! I can’t wait to read these!
I also picked up some new Gundam sets to build. One I really like from the anime series “Witch from Mercury” and the others are the SD (super deformed) versions that are from their own anime series. I think with the addition of these, I’ll have a few things to work on for a while.
Looking forward to getting into these sets!
And for something I’ve wanted to do since I saw my Mom working on one as a kid - a paint-by-number picture that I got at work. I’ve never done one of these that are set up for an adult painting vs painting as a kid. I do remember doing working on a paint-by-number from a book I had as a kid at the same time my Mom worked on her picture. It’s a memory I really like thinking about and I think it’s something that really got me excited about art when I was young. I’m looking forward to working on this and hoping to create my own memories. Plus it’s purple - my favorite color - so I’ll enjoing seeing that as I work through section by section.
My own paint-by-number kit
I can’t wait to see the picture as I add each color to the canvas.
So that’s a small peak into my regular life. I still think I’m boring at times, but I do enjoy the hobbies I have in my life. They bring me joy and lets me let of some stress from life in general. I hope you enjoyed a small look into my world.
Next post will be about coding - onward with JavaScript and WordPress! 👩💻😄
